Girls on the Run - Girls Registration Now Open

Program Registration Is Open 1/22/18-2/21/18 at noon

Mission: To empower girls for a lifetime of healthy living.

GOTR is a 10-week physical activity-based positive youth development program focused on building confidence and improving emotional, social and physical skills and health while training to complete a 5k.


Girls on the Run Season Specifics:

  • 10 Week Program
  • 75-90 minute practices twice per week
  • Teams of 8-17 girls with 2 trained coaches
  • Snack at every practice
  • End of season 5K with all GOTR-STL teams

Girls on the Run FAQ’s:

Who can participate?

Girls aged 3rd-8th grade can participate in either Girls on the Run (elementary school) or Heart and Sole (middle school)

Who are the coaches?

Coaches are trained volunteers– typically coaches are teachers, parents, and community members

When are practices?

Practices are different at each site they are typically after school but some sites practice before school

Does it cost to participate?

There is a fee, but scholarships and financial assistance are available to ensure every girl can participate.

Do I have to be a runner to participate or coach?

Absolutely not! GOTR is not a competitive running program. We are focused on moving forward, setting goals, and empowering girls to become independent thinkers, enhance their problem solving skills and make healthy decisions.
